Call me Grace

so i wrote my last blog thinking that things were all fine and dandy...which they still pretty much are...

but i was cool, and i 6:00 in the morning on saturday (as i was rushing around to go take my ACT) i fell down my stairs. allll the way down my stairs. in my defense, it was really dark, and i was in a hurry. anyways...i'm falling, and i can't stop myself, and i end up in a heap on the floor. and my leg hurt so much i couldn't hardly breathe.

then my brother proceded to rush down the stairs, seeing as how my extremely graceful tumble woke him up, and he was screaming something like "omigod what happened? omigod sarah are you ok? get up sarah! oh no wait, did you hurt yourself? omigod!"

yes tom...of course i hurt myself. i fell all the way down the -effing stairs. and it was a LOUD little fall if you know what i'm saying. so yeah...i hurt myself. dummy.

then my mom comes in. and is all "did you break something? is anything broken?" yeah, becuz i'm a liscensed surgeon. if i thought something was broken mom, i'd let you know. otherwise, i thought i'd just writhe in pain on the floor for awhile.

so i laid there. holding my thigh, becuz at that point, it was all tingly and hurt like a bitch, and i was trying to just breathe.

then my dad gets out of the shower, walks in the room all ready to go to the school, looks down at me, and goes "what's going on here? i heard something in the shower..."

yeah. that was me. falling. haha.

now, i have a huge ass bruise on my upper thigh hip area. and it keeps getting bigger, and is swollen, and my dad is worried that it might get infected or something hideous like that.

i of course had to dance yesterday after that happened too. we got a platinum on our first dance, and got 1st overall though. so i guess the pain is worth it. oh well.

Sleep?

soooo tonight was refreshing. i came home and took a nap becuz that's what i do...sleep. and then amanda and em came over...and we all traveled to kara's early bday party.

lemme tell you.......this was a random ass party. like..random city. and i mingled like i usually do. had some cake. and lots of pop. i'm on a pretty big sugar high hahahaha!!

and i have ACT tomorrow...so i should prolly study or do something smart. i don't know if i will, but it's always an option. then i've got jazz band tomorrow night (that's jazz with a soft "j") and then a dance competition on sunday...yay!! boy am i pumped.

not really...i kinda just wanna sleep right now..becuz it's like i said..that's what i do. haha. yeah.

My Musical Interests

i know this guy through my church, his name is logan. i've known him for...um....well, ever since i've lived in ohio, which i guess is awhile haha.

logan is a pretty sweet kid. he's 15 years old, even though he looks like he could be in college. coolest thing about him? he's in a band. yeah. a band. and they're actually pretty good, called awake the dawn. anyways, that's beside the point.

he's introduced me to techno music. and of course, when i say introduced, i'm not saying that i've never heard techno..becuz that's just silly. of course i've heard techno music before. but last sunday we were sitting listening to music and he had me listen to a band called shiny toy guns. (curious name, isn't it? pretty snappy though..) and at first i thought he was crazy..becuz these guys are like...really techno. but i realized after listening to just one of their songs - i really really like it.

so these past few days i've been addicted to listening to their songs. i really like one called le disko. lol.

so anywho...i just thought i'd throw that out there. it's a good band.

shiny toy guns.....and awake the dawn. =D

TORONTO

Hey.

First of all, happy easter to everyone...yay for candy and eating a lot.

These past few days have been exciting, cold, depressing, upsetting, thrilling and adventurous.
Why is that?
I went to Toronto for NHS...that's why.

We left Wednesday at about noon from school, loaded onto the bus and headed out.

That night we went to Niagra Falls, with it all lit up with pretty lights and such. It was cool. Literally. It was very cold, snowing actually. Blah.

The next morning we went to the Toronto zoo...in the snow and cold. And we walked 50 trillion miles just to see the moose and grizzly bears..and Karen. And it was cold. And we saw some seals and some hyenas that we think were hybernating. And it was cold. And a giraffe that was hiding. Becuz it was cold.

We then ventured to Chinatown, and ate at a cute Chinese place with cute ppl and cute teacups. And we walked around. Looking at the street vendors and things. But we walked fast. Becuz it was cold.

That night we went to a Murder Mystery Dinner thing. And that was FUN!! Oh my wow...so much fun. And amazing food. I wasn't cold the entire time.

Friday we went to visit the skydome/Rodger centre. And it was big. But the lady woudn't let us walk on the turf and it was disappointing.

Then we walked over to the CN Tower. That was big. And there was this part where the floor was glass. And it was cool.

And then we walked around near the University. And it was VERY COLD. And we went to the underground city. Which was closed almost entirely becuz it was Good Friday. We walked to Joe Badali's to eat..and rushed inside. Becuz we were hungry and cold.

And we went to the Lacrosse game which was amazing. They play music the entire time while they're playing. And I didn't know they did that. But I liked it. And I wore my coat, becuz I was cold.

That night we threw a big dance party in our hotel room. A broken lampshade and spilled milk will always remind me of jumping on it...haha. We were really hot, so we opened the window, and a cold breeze kept us cool.

Next morning we visited Casa Loma. Me and Kala walked 20 thousand stairs to the top. it was fun. Then we went through a tunnel with Molly and Jonathon. And we didn't have our coats, so we were cold.

Then we went to Greektown. It was snowing. Me, Brandon, and Adam went to eat Greek food and talk to the nice Greek man about lamb souvlaki, calamari, peta bread, and some lady's inability to parallel park. And we were in there for an hour and a half. Then we went to Baskin Robins and got ice cream. It seemed like a good idea at the time. But as i said it was snowing. And we walked back to the bus. With ice cream. It was damn cold.

Our bus driver (Larry) was crazy. We got lost every single time we went somewhere. But he made some kick-ass turns. So I guess he gets points.

On trips like these you learn things. You hang out with new people, form friendships, while others prctically fall apart. Drama is always there, no matter how hard you try to leave it behind. Smiles are inevitable, and by the end of the trip, irrelevent of where you go, everyone is ready to go home.

Biggest thing I learned? It sure can get damn cold in Canada. Hah.
